Haven't been in the mood of blogging lately... I finally found the urge to blog today (tonight rather).
Well, first of all, I completed all the sections which were uncompleted before. So no more complaining...
Secondly, I have absolutely no inspiration at all for what to write for negZine. I changed from a monthly issue to just a loose publication, with articles being added every now and then. And there's only one review up there... I'm quite surprised, actually, that some people
do read negZine!
Ok, next thing.
SPH has decided to get some more money out of our pockets. The internet is free, yes, nobody owns it. But the content on the internet is not. And now we have to pay for something as simple as reading the news. At first, it was some subscription. Fine, I'll subscribe for free. Now, they want us to pay. Although it's cheap, there's no Classfied ads etc. And if a bomb comes towards Singapore or a big fire occurs, we won't know about it. Let's hope that ChannelNewsAsia will not be influenced and start charging for its news too. If they do, I'm outta Singapore.
Now that STI will be a pay-only website, I do not know what to susbcribe to. Should I subscribe for the print edition (~S$300/yr) or the online version (~S$120/yr)? The online version has all the news the print has BUT it doesn't have classified ads and stuff... Damn it, if they could offer the website free for 10 years, why can't they continue to do so? It's just a service to the public... People would be happy with you.
So they're trying to suck more money from us Singaporeans. As if we haven't had enough. Argh. I wonder how many people will subscribe to the online edition. They'll be happy though, no server maintenance costs to handle anymore.
For once I'll say, MediaCorp—The Choice.
