did some chemistry and history today... actually bothered to open up my sister's 20-year-series. and the questions from 1979 are really like out of our syllabus already... lots to remember in chemistry, oxides and those crap... solubility and stuff. i have 1 week to get this right. as for history its not too bad though. its not that i don't remember stuff, just how i answer...

and it rains everyday now... always when we're just dismissed from school...

wow, chee soon juan is really daring. despite the law regulating no political, podcasts and stuff during elections, on the SDP website there is a link to download his latest podcast. wow. he really has the courage. though i wonder whether its of any use. anyway, i listened to the podcast out of curiousity (hey, before the authorities take it down), and one has to admit that he has some valid arguments... and he's a good speaker compared to the other parties you see on tv, except the incumbent of course. perhaps because it's rehearsed. but bleh.

first read about the podcast on yahoo news, and CNA is carrying the story now... it says that the elctions dept has been notified... i don't know, but i think that his party members who are suffering instead...

shan't comment any further. lest i get slapped with a defamation suit.

left the house without my wallet this morning. did so without my keys yesterday. thankfully i discovered that my wallet was missing in the lift, and i quickly went back up to take it...

then when i left the house again i dropped my keys... then off to get them back... so i was like 5 mins later than normal, but i'm always early for the bus, so nevermind...

okay, this one is actually good. the physics test ended up to be a MCQ test instead... hopefully it'll be the first physics test that i pass this term... comparatively easier to open-ended questions. tricky though.

while doing our napfa, it started raining... we actually wanted to do shuttle run outside still, but when we almost started running it poured. then when we wnet back in the rain became a drizzle... grr.

thought it was a drizzle only (on the way home) so i kept my umbrella. then the rain got heavier as i walked on. grr.

wanted to take the sheltered route when some workers decided to repair/redecorate/whatever the shelter at that point. had to open my umbrella again... what the hell.

went onto the bus, earphones almost got stuck to the bus seat in front of me.

thankfully there's no #8, #9 and #10 yet...

today i did the mock maths paper that the maths teacher gave us, had little problems for the most part... though had troubles with some of the questions while for the others i referred to the answer and did backwards haha. tried some physics open-ended also but still can't do it... waiting for teacher to go through on saturday then...

changed the banner of this blog earlier today... hope it looks more cheery eh? not as depressing as before imho...

did some maths and struggled with indices... grr.. as for chemistry i successfully completed the mock paper, except for a few blanks where our teacher haven't teached us yet. quite happy with myself haha. just that i'm unsure about a few questions... gotta memorise the acid alkalis hydroxide crap all over again...

i'm resigned to studying everyday already... nothing really difficult once you get the hang of things. revised chem for a while this morning, then maths+phy tuition, then maths mock and chem mock paper... occupied me until 6pm. what an accomplishment. so time to relax and gamed from 6-8pm, then dinner, then another hour of gaming...

haha there was this documentary today... about qin shi huang. damn funny those americans. they portrayed qsh as a thin guy, and no beard at all, just a small moustache. and the english accent was really hilarious. one part it showed that he was being assassinated then all his men all shouted "ASSASSIN! ASSASSIN!" in that weird accent. LOL. qin shi huang speaked english. that's something new. amazing how a thin, seemingly innocent and soft-spoken guy could command the whole army and country... he looked more like a weirdo than an emperor. can't blame them though, haha. at least they got the army clothings right... the terracotta army (or however you spell it) is really cool and magnificent... amazing how it is still in such a preserved stage after over two thousand years... and the sculptors are really geniouses... all the faces painted with great detail... and that's 2200 years ago for you...

don't know why i seem to be blogging so much lately.. my sister wrote in her blog before that one tends to blog more near exams. i guess that stands true...

just hope that firefox stops crashing. somehow it likes to crash around three times a week. before i wrote this i opened blogthis and ta dah, crash. thank god i didn't write much yet if not i'll be cussing now.

had maths n physics tuition today, went through matrices as revision and i can't believe how much i've forgotten.. for physics revised on moment of a force, surprisingly answered most questions correctly on my sister's (read: 5 year old) twenty-year series from 1979-2001...

and there's a mock chem paper on sharepoint, and an incomplete maths mock paper 1... so yeah gonna do them now.

seems like times passes extrodinarily fast when exams approaches... argh. don't know how or why but i play more bf2 when exams approaches. maybe to calm myself down? not the right way though. just revised some chemistry stuff. damn i swear if i read it earlier i would've fared better for that chapter 7 worksheet. all the answers are there right in my face... and it seems other pple didn't read it too, they all said that they all can't do it. hmm..

anyway no half day announced after we won the bball match :(

5 days more to the first paper of the mid-year exams, argh!! 25% of the year is here. i'd be contented with something like 15%.

and my sister introduced me to something very interesting, music sharing via itunes... just tried it today, damn cool... how it works is that by turning on the share library options in itunes, people on the same LAN network as you can access the songs you have. to dl the songs themselves you need a third party proggy like mytunes redux which i used. add in applocale and i can see chinese trad fonts... so yeah we're sorta sharing musics over LAN now... the wonders of a router. i didn't know about this built in feature until today. amazing! and yeah my itunes version is 2 versions outdated... time to update?

so we won. 2nd time in a row.

got a quick bite at the school canteen, 3 nuggets and 2 hash browns. then hastily made our way down to toa payoh sports hall... had to reach there by 2.15pm. we were dismissed at 1.20pm today. so we decided to take the train... when we reached there, we thought of something... how the hell do we reach the sports hall?! after some map checking and asking around, finally found the route. and it all seems familiar again... the same hall where we cheered in last year, just that it now reads SGSS vs CHS instead of CHS vs US last year. ah, the memories...

after both schools settled down the game started... our school was off to a good start, we had a streak of 3 at the beginning before serangoon garden sec finally scored one. we were totally owning the first part...

then someone from our team sprained his leg unfortunately. and he's one of the prominent strikers of the team. after he was gone, sgs started catching up, but we were still considerably ahead...

half time came and went. didn't go down and buy drinks like last year. learnt my lesson that its gonna be so goddamned crowded.

the second part was very intense... sgs started catching up with us, and were sorta chasing us... we continued to lead them only marginally, by one or three points... the cheering was very intense too heh. sgs tried doing the "kallang wave" but failed badly... then we did the same thing and it was totally different. much more organised as though it was chereographed properly before... so we did the same cheering (jeering also worked somehow, sgs kept missing) as last year... gong1 jiao4 vs s,g,s.

then they lead us... they lead us by 3 points at one time... it was near the end of the match and we were like "uh, oh"... could see that my school's team was very nervous... they missed obvious goals that they should've scored...

however, we managed to retake them after that and widened the gap until it was safe... in the end we lead by around 10+ points. yay! we did it again... amazingly, most of the points that we gained was because of sgs' more violent players... we scored lots of penalties while they only managed to score one in.

somehow it didn't feel as exciting as last year, perhaps cos this is our 2nd time here. veterans already lol.

after the prize presentation for 8 schools (4 girls sch, jurong sec, nygh, another school i forgot the name and assumption english, and 4 boys school, anglican high, unity which we faced in the finals last year, sgs and our school), we sang the national anthem... and as usual we did the 'extra' thing again... we sang our school song on our own... i think the other schools were kinda surprised haha. all looking at us...

that's all for now i guess... tomorrow's friday again. last friday was much cooler.

we're made to support our school's bball team this afternoon... it was the sec2s last year, and now it has extended to the sec1s and sec3s. so yeah we have to support them again... blah.

we're against serangoon garden secondary, which iirc is near my house... "early dismissal" at 1.20pm today, but we still have to take the damn english argumentative essay test anywho. so no difference....

let's see how my school fares today. heh. they won last year against unity sec.

not a christian or catholic myself, but an interesting observation i've made... it has always rained on good fridays as long as i can remember.

did some studying this week, but when it came to physics and maths, i sorta gave up. sigh. i've made some headroom in maths though, now i bother to troubleshoot and check answers... yeah so got most of them rite and quite happy with myself. so i thought maybe i'll give myself a break heh. supposed to rush maths today... as for physics, sigh, i don't know where to start. and my 'friend' refuses to give me his physics notes. THANK YOU! oh well. gotta rely on myself. exams are coming soon! in exactly two weeks mid-year will commence... haven't done sufficient preparation... grr. i was using mozilla calendar to pace my studying... then i went one week back. then i thought, hey there's still a lot of time, until i noticed it read 4th april instead of 11th.

so what was i doing today? a little guilty as i reflect. 10am was looking through steam to see whether there's any suitable server to go to. none. ok. halo and cs friends not online. yeah. so i hopped on to bf2. got spawncamped like hell. left. went to eat lunch. went back again. saw 2 people inside SAF's server so i decided to join. had some fun in bf2c airshow though my plane kept getting shot down. after a while we got bored doing stunts. went back to the same server as before. same spawn campers still there. left. kept spamming refresh hoping to get a slot for easg 2a. spammed till my hands were sore and FINALLY there's a damn slot available. that's how pathetic singapore gaming servers are for you. 2a happens to be an urban server, so i trained up my infantry. until 7.30pm. yeah there's still internet training on fridays. so i ate my dinner and went for internet training. in the end for half of the time we had a knife match and statspadding match. haha. i love trainings.


and there's lan training tomorrow. since its good friday i decided to attend. i don't think i can be bothered studying on saturdays (yet) nyways... time to have a gettogether after a month of not meeting... amazingly we have 22 pple turning out tomorrow, breaking any previous record (except for bbq maybe).

blogging in school now, seems like the physics teacher is absent for some reason. many teachers absent this week. just not maths...

went to see a doctor on sunday, so i got some virus infection or something, as expected. asked for a mc for PE.

that night we had a friendly match with a china clan HERO. after weeks of MSNing them in Chinese, the match was played. though not very well. they said they wanted us to ping low so they chose an ISP that half of their players weren't on. and it seems like the duopoly over there is worst here, those players who weren't on that isp got disconnected (or 掉线 as they call it). worst thing is, we pinged less than 100 and they pinged 200+. so yes after we won the first round (they said they didn't lose before), they asked us to try another server. but they were slow in responding and some of us (those playing from LAN like STG and some bf.nuts) decided to just call it a day and go home. it was already quite late so by the time they gave us the new ip, we didn't feel like playing anymore. so we said, perhaps we can do it next week, but it'll be a smaller scale match, like 8v8 instead of 32v32. im quite surprised 32 turned up on sunday anyway. they said they'll try to find a neutral hong kong server for us. i guess the "made in china" theory wasn't wrong after all, coz the server that we played on was obviously from china.

that's not the funny part yet. they decided to go on our ts server so that they can communicate faster. and yeah, those chinese (or rather china) pple talk like bullet trains. they thought that we owned the whole ts server and that the server belonged to our clan. so they began talking in the default channel. and some idiots were inside the default channel at the same time, for some strange reason.

so after that they came to our channel after telling them the password. so four HEROs joined the channel, and i got to meet their leader 红一 REDONE (don't ask me why he chose such a name). they asked why our people in default channel were so rude. we were like "huh? the server doesn't belong to us." so we clarified that fact and they replied;

刚才在默认频道令我气死了！！他们说 YOU F--KING CHINESE， 真得让我气死了，然后我们就说 GO F--K YOURSELF!

what's more amazing is the accent which they said the english words, heh. damnit i thought i was recording the whole damn conversation when i realised that i stopped it to save some space. damn!!

anyway, if all goes well we'll be playing them on friday 8v8 style.

talking about friday, its good friday this week. woot. another double maths lesson gone. and there's lan training on saturday. permission obtained to go already :). been a while since we last trained lan, would be a really good experience!

and the gxleague is considering having bf2 inside the league, after poll results showed bf2 leading by a damn huge margin. all thanks to all of us who registered and voted, lol.

didn't touch on monday yet, did i? yeah so i skipped PE after the teacher said i was selfish to come to school and spread the virus. bleh. if there wasn't SPA test yesterday i wouldn't have come. oh well, so yeah i decided that i shouldn't come near him and not give him the MC. :)

chionged thru my maths during cca, got some help from my seniors and finally completed them by 5pm...

when i reached home to print some stuff my printer decided to fxxk up on me and refused to print. turned out that the scanner kept turning right coz it couldn't see its start point. tried removing the front cover, asked my maid for help to unscrew the damn thing, but in the end we didn't have the right screwdriver and she ended up removing the whole damn cable connecting to the front panel!! omg... then i reconnected it and yeah the scanner worked already. for some reason. but the front panel was blank. i thought, uh oh, gg... then i opened up the front panel again and reconnnected the cable the other way round. lights up. phew... so somehow my printer works again. strange huh.

and i got reminded of a maths online test due 10pm at 9.50pm. did the first question, and was racing against time for the rest. so i just guessed my way through the other 3. results is a bare pass, 2/4. i think i couldve done better given more time? perhaps.

this is turning out to be one of my longest entries ever. and with simplfiied chinese ... considering i always blog with traditional lol.

here's one new word for you, packet loss in chinese: 掉包
i forgot what's ping and lag in chinese... damn! but we're gonna fight with them again so perhaps we'll know.

and it seems that HERO's rivals SAGA have also decided to issue a challenge to us. amazingly in english. i don't have to be translator anymore thank god. those stupid HEROS actually told me this: 怎么你讲话语好像很吃力？so much for taking higher chinese eh.

and u pretty much guessed why i blogged such a long post. teacher's not here today!

nyway sigh mye are coming in a few weeks already and i havent been studying. yeah guess its time to start nxt week.

feeling sleeping these few days, duno how a sore throat and a runny nose can cause that. slept quite a lot yesterday, like 12h or something.

there was a mass maths lecture yesterday morning, hope to have more of such lectures, but not after sch hours! much more comfy learnig with air-con... and had my maths/phy tuition yesterday nite. dead tired.

todays assembly programme was crap haha. some international frenship day thingy.

first they had some of the NIE trainees to perform a rendition of the song 'i believe'. it's supposed to be a korean song, though my impression of it was that it was a mandarin song =\. anyway they sang it out of tune (i guess if they didn't they would be in some idol competition thingy already).

then sch invited some pple from the jap assoc. of sg. old pple performing for us. yawn. and the piercing music.. omfg... i think i'd take the trainees' singing anyday. what a nice way to start a friendship.

anyway l8r on they invited some 'chers n students on stage. quite a nice sight lol, seeing my sec2 form teacher dancing... think everyone was laughing at him :). haha at first he refused to go up, but the "geisha" dragged him up. yeah he was trying to sabo some students up there, and got sabotaged himself in the end. hahax.

not much hw today, and all the class/common tests are over.... sigh nw the mid-year is approaching... only 2-3 weeks more i think. n i haven't started preparing yet. perhaps this weekend. or nxt week. yeah im still a procrastinator.

actually the song i mentioned earlier, the lyrics are very meaningful by itself... guess i'll end off with it?

monday wasn't really a good day. woke up with a sore throat. cca ended early, but outside the sch, heavy rain and got all drenched. grr.

sore throat continued all the way today~~ sigh had some useless e maths remedial that evryone had to attend... answered all the questions with ease. but the same doesn't go for a maths and today's physics test. u know ur falling behind when everyone else says tt the paper is ez.

aftr the remedial was the unsw com. quiz... yeah cca forced all of us to take it. n they came out lots of db questions... mysql, html, email, domains, microsoft access etc. some arent really computer related, it's more of common sense. anyway i'm not very good at access or xcel so i dunno whethr i can do well anot. like i care haha... nt really into software these days...

looking 4 a program to reduce the size of the mpg files i record thru my tv tuner. any suggestions?

sports day was crap... rain, stop, rain, stop. i mean just face up to reality and postpone the damn thing... in the end part of the sports day had to be postponed to another day... sigh. but i ate ~$2 of ice-cream and got a free lime coke. and no maths lesson!

april fools was yesterday, only got tricked once, by bf2s.com claiming that the EA stats server messed up. didn't realise it was an april fools joke, until i saw that little underline under that dot. but it's funny though, it showed me being a WWII veteran, enlisting in 1943... some friends tried tricking me, sorry didn't fall for them.

today's the finals for campus superstar =\. haven't been following the show but have a good idea of the final 4. i hope that cheeyang n teresa wins. best vocals imho. also added some of the finalists' friendster and visited their blogs for fun. guess i have nth better to do.
